About the SIC


Objectives and Vision
  • Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Encourage students and faculty to engage in innovative projects and entrepreneurial ventures.
  • Provide Incubation Support: Offer necessary resources, mentorship, and infrastructure to nurture startups.
  • Facilitate Industry Collaboration: Bridge academia and industry through partnerships for practical learning.
Key Components of the SIC
1. Incubation Centre
  • Focus Areas: Technology startups including IoT, biotech, clean tech, sensor technology, etc.
  • Services Offered: Business services, advisory support, legal and IPR assistance.
2. Collaborations and Partnerships
  • Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited: MoU for mentorship and market access.
  • Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSiNS): Funding and support for incubation centers.
3. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell

Assists researchers, innovators, students, and startups in managing intellectual property, including patent filing.

4. Startup Olympiad 2025

Objective: Provide a platform for students to showcase and develop market-ready products.

Participation Process & Key Dates:

  • Student Registration: Until February 23, 2025.
  • Live Online Workshops: February 24-25.
  • Selection of Student Groups: February 25-27.
  • Presentation of Shortlisted Ideas: March 3-6.
  • Final Round: Third week of March 2025.

Collaboration: Organized by SPPU's Center for Innovation, Incubation, and Enterprises.
